What to have ready
Five minutes of prep.

Key in hand
The key needs to be able to wake the vehicle — for EVs and PHEVs especially. If the car has been sat over a week, charge the 12V first (ignition on for a few minutes is usually enough).

Open access to OBD port
Usually under the dashboard near the driver\'s legs. Move any covers or loose items. I have a torch if it\'s awkward.

Parked somewhere level
Driveway or quiet parking bay. Ideally with at least a metre of clearance around the car. Not in a tight multi-storey bay if avoidable.

V5 / service book (optional)
For pre-purchase checks, having the V5 and service history on hand helps me cross-reference everything. Not essential — but it helps.

Arrival
I\'ll message ahead with an ETA and arrive at the booked time. Introduction, quick chat about what you\'re looking for, park up next to the vehicle.

Test
Connect to OBD and Aviloo (if applicable). 20–45 minutes depending on service. You\'re welcome to watch — I\'ll talk through anything interesting.

Report
Findings explained in plain English. Certificate emailed on site for battery tests. Full written report the same evening for diagnostics/pre-purchase.

Payment
Card (via Square on mobile), bank transfer, or cash. No deposit taken at booking. Receipt emailed automatically.
If something goes wrong
Honest commitments.
Rare but possible — vehicle won\'t wake, OBD port is damaged, Aviloo doesn\'t support that specific variant after all. No test, no charge.
Traffic happens. If I\'m running more than 10 minutes late, I\'ll message with an updated ETA. If I\'m more than 30 minutes late without notice, assume something\'s wrong and call via WhatsApp.
PAD doesn\'t soften bad news. If your SOH is low, the certificate will show that. You\'ll get an honest interpretation and practical advice — but the number is the number.
