Scope of service

PAD provides diagnostic testing, Aviloo and Generational certified battery health measurement, 12V battery testing, TPMS reset and relearn, smart key fob programming, pre-purchase inspection, and HPI history checks. PAD does not carry out repairs. All results are provided as written reports and certificates for you to take to a garage of your choice.

What PAD commits to

  • Use professional equipment and follow standard procedures
  • Produce accurate, honest results regardless of findings
  • Deliver certificates and reports in the timeframe stated at booking
  • Carry £2m public liability insurance during every visit
  • Explain findings clearly, with no pressure to buy additional services

What PAD does not commit to

  • Predicting future faults — the tests reflect vehicle state on the day only
  • Guaranteeing vehicle compatibility beyond what the Aviloo or Generational coverage lists confirm
  • Carrying out repairs, part replacements, or warranty work
  • Providing specialist tooling (key coding, DPF regen, full ADAS calibration) — these can be quoted separately if needed

Payment

Payment is due on completion of the service. No deposit is required at booking. Accepted methods: card (via Square), UK bank transfer, or cash. If the service cannot be completed (e.g. incompatible vehicle, fault preventing test), no charge applies.

Refunds

Where PAD fails to complete a booked service through no fault of the customer, any payment taken is refunded in full within 5 working days. Completed services are non-refundable — but if you believe a report was inaccurate, please contact contact@pontypridddiagnostics.co.uk within 14 days so the issue can be investigated.

Battery health certificate — scope & limitations

PAD uses technology from Generational Technologies Ltd (company number 12677491) and Aviloo to provide battery health certificates. The following applies to all battery health checks carried out by PAD.

The electric vehicle battery health check uses technology from Generational Technologies Ltd (company number 12677491) to display the "State of Health" (SoH) as a percentage, based on data from the vehicle's Battery Management System (BMS). This percentage reflects the usable battery capacity compared to when new.

The official battery test result is accessible by scanning the QR code on the certificate, which directs users to the secure Generational web servers where the original PDF is hosted, and this is the definitive source of this data. Reproduction or copies of the original Battery Health Check cannot guarantee accuracy. Customers should refer to the certificate hosted on the official Generational domain.

The Generational battery health check offers a point-in-time measurement of battery condition for informational purposes only. Pontypridd Auto Diagnostics does not guarantee or warrant future battery health or performance. Battery health is affected by factors including but not limited to driving and charging habits, and environmental conditions. Follow manufacturer guidelines to maintain optimal battery health.

This is similar to how an MOT evaluates a vehicle's roadworthiness on the day of test without predicting or guaranteeing future performance. Certificates are timestamped and reflect State of Health at the time of test only.
