Aviloo has rolled out its latest software update, adding over 35 new electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to its certified battery test coverage. As a registered Aviloo partner, PAD can now test all of these in South Wales — coming to your driveway as always.

This is the third significant coverage expansion in recent months, and it's a meaningful one. Several of the additions are vehicles that are already appearing in the used market — Tesla Model Y Juniper variants, the updated Mercedes CLA range, and the new Renault 4 E-Tech among them. If you've been waiting to get a battery check on one of these, the wait is over.

Why Coverage Expansion Matters

Aviloo's certified battery test is not the same as a generic OBD read. It uses direct BMS communication to measure state of health at the cell level, flags hidden cell defects, and produces a certificate that's recognised by dealers and insurers across Europe. The coverage list determines which vehicles the software can properly interrogate — if your car isn't on it, you can't get a certified result.

The rapid expansion of coverage over the last few months reflects two things: the EV market growing faster than anyone expected, and Aviloo working quickly to keep pace. For buyers and sellers of these vehicles in South Wales, it means a certified battery health report is now accessible locally — not something you have to travel to a dealer for or pay dealer rates to obtain.

For used EV buyers

If a vehicle you're considering has just appeared on the Aviloo coverage list, that's exactly when to get a battery check done. Early used examples of new models often have unknown charge histories. A certified test before purchase removes the single biggest unknown in any EV transaction.

What This Means for PHEV Owners

Several of the new additions are plug-in hybrids — the Audi A6/A7 TFSIe variants, BMW 330e, Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, and Mercedes AMG E 53 among them. PHEV battery degradation is a real but under-discussed issue. Many PHEV owners never plug in, which means the battery sits at partial state of charge for extended periods — a pattern that accelerates degradation even without high mileage. A certified SOH test on a PHEV is particularly valuable when buying used.
